About me
Peter Reichenbach was born in 1954 in Zurich. After graduating from school, he worked as an assistant director, for directors such as Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, Peter Stein, Peter Beauvais, Michael Hampe, and Imo Moszkowicz, among others. He gained his first experience in film and television from his uncle François Reichenbach (“Le Japon insolite,” “Houston Texas,” “Salzburg, Portrait einer Festspielstadt,” “Lettres de Paris et d’ailleurs” among others).
From 1977 to 1980, he worked as an assistant director and a production manager at the Frankfurt Opera and the Salzburg Festival together with Virginio Puecher, Jürgen Flimm, Hans Neuenfels, August Everding, among others. From 1981 to 1989, Peter Reichenbach resided in West Berlin and worked as a freelance theater and opera director at the Schiller Theater, the Berliner Kammerspiele, Theater der Freien Volksbühne Berlin, Theater des Westens, the Frankfurt Opera, the Zurich Opera, the Bonn Opera, the Lyric Opera Chicago, the Staatstheater Saarbrücken, and Long Beach Opera. As a film director, he realized film portraits on the pianist Géza Anda and Arthur Maria Rabenalt.
Since 1989 Peter Reichenbach has been living in Zurich.
1990 – 1999 he worked as a producer at Condor Films AG.
1995-1998 he was an artistic director of the Film Music Festival CINEMUSIC GSTAAD and produced concerts with Quincy Jones, Liza Minnelli, Toru Takemitsu, Ben Weisman
1998 he was the producer of “Fiddlefest in Central Park” (Time Warner).
1999 along with Peter-Christian Fueter and Edi Hubschmid, he founded C-FILMS AG.
Peter Reichenbach is a member of the International Academy of Television Arts&Sciences, the European -, the German- and the Swiss Film Academy.
